Attack of the Bs! Live Roller Derby in Bury

It’s not long now until our eagerly-anticipated B Team double header is upon us. Months of planning, training and focus have brought us to the last few weeks leading up to our last home bout of the year.

B team games are every bit as exciting as our champs games and are a great chance to see roller derby up close and personal. Chaos Engine are our men’s B team and have been playing regularly and training hard for the last few months, ready to bring the Chaos to Bury and the Pack Animals from Wirral. The Furies were the first B team to be developed in MRD and are made up of experienced skaters and newer skaters on the watchlist to become future stars. They will be playing North Wales the weekend before in preparation for the most important game of the year in front of a home crowd. Local skater, Nyte Owl says, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity for the people of Bury to come and experience the fast-paced thrills of roller derby in the very sports hall I learned to roller skate over 30 years ago”.

The event will be held at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury on Sunday 11th December 2016. Doors are at 1:30pm and the first whistle will be around 2pm. There will be the usual MRD cakes, half time fun and perhaps some festive merriment along the way. Get your tickets now from here to save yourself a few pounds on the day (more money for cake!).

The Facebook event is here if you want to RSVP and keep up to date with the latest news.

Whilst you are waiting for the big day, have a gander at our beautiful bout poster from the very talented Ashley Johnson.
