Chaos Engine, New Wheeled Order
Started skating: April 2014
Position: Jammer for New Wheeled Order and Chaos Engine. MRD Heroes’ coach.
Favourite skate gear:
I’ve just recently switched my skate setup to Bonts boots and Arius plates, and I have to say that I can really feel the difference. I’m very much of the mindset that “it’s the skater, not their equipment” but having gear that suits your skate style always help. You’d also have to go some way to convince me to wear something other than an S1 helmet. I’ve tried most brands out and S1 beat them all. It wasn’t even close.
Career highlight so far: The last game of British Champs 2016 was New Wheeled Order vs Southern Discomfort, and it was a home bout. I had only previously jammed for NWO a couple of times in some closed games, so to be selected for the main rotation in a game of this calibre was pretty exciting.
I still can’t quite believe it happened when I think back on it, but I managed to get lead in my first jam and put our first lot of points on the board for NWO. I remember the crowd going mental as I was going back around for another pass, I was shaking so much from nerves and excitement that I almost tripped over my own feet. It was a huge team effort that day, and I’m still so proud to have been a part of it.
What is the origin of your derby name? I bloody love dinosaurs.
One thing most people don’t know about me: I can solve a Rubik’s cube in under 5 minutes.
